The addition of the bergamot enhances the balance of flavours in this luxury black tea blend for a delicious traditional flavour. Bergamot oil is extracted from the skin of the bergamot fruit.
Earl Grey tea is that most British of drinks. So much so, that its alleged namesake is the British Prime Minister of the time. Was it in thanks for removing the monopoly of the East India Company on importing tea from China? The mystery surrounding the origin of this tea only adds to its allure.
A perfect alternative for tea lovers who are trying to reduce their caffeine consumption. We use a gentle natural decaffeinating process to retain the delicate flavour and aroma of this Earl Grey
- The tea leaves are moistened with just water and placed under gentle pressure.
- Pressurised and heated CO2 is passed through the tea leaves, where it bonds with the caffeine molecules.
- Finally, the now decaffeinated tea leaves are dried and packed. With all the leaves intact, delicious.
Make as for hot, but add extra tea. A rule of thumb when preparing fresh brewed iced tea is to double the strength of hot tea. When the tea has cooled a little, pour over ice. It is important to make it a little stronger as the ice will water it down.
Alternatively, you can place the tea in a jug and add cold water. Leave to infuse for a few hours (or overnight in the fridge) strain and enjoy. Cold brewing will give a smoother taste.
Add milk and sugar to taste.
To make 1 litre of iced tea: Place 6 teaspoons of tea into a teapot or heat resistant jug. Pour ¯¿½ pint (275ml) of freshly boiled water over the tea. Steep for 5 minutes. Quarter fill a serving jug with cold water. Pour the tea into your serving jug while straining the leaves. Add ice and top up the jug with cold water. Garnish and sweeten to taste.

The best tea I have tasted.
This tea is amazing, it's balance of flavours and aroma is perfect. I bought it as a gift for my husband and he loves it. His sleep has improved too after swapping to decaffeinated tea.

The flavour of the brew
I am passionate about loose leaf Earl Grey tea but was looking for a decaffeinated version to drink in the evening. Found this one and love it so much that it is now my go-to brew. The flavour is exceptional.
